jmemory.jar
helps when if you have problems with jEveAssets running out of memory
Windows
- Close all instances of jEveAssets
- Double click on
jmemory.jar
- Wait for jEveAssets to load, then exit it again (if it crash before you can exit it, that is fine)
- The file
jmemory.properties
should now have been created - Open
jmemory.properties
with Notepad (or another text editor of your choice)- How to open with notepad? Right click
jmemory.properties
selectOpen with
then selectNotepad
- When you open the file it will look something like this:
- jmemory.properties
# #Wed May 22 19:52:50 CEST 2019 xmx=1g
- Replace the text
xmx=1g
withxmx=4g
- Save the file
- Now start jEveAssets again by double click on
jmemory.jar
- Did that fix the memory problems?
- If yes, then continue to use
jmemory.jar
to lunch jEveAssets (instead ofjeveassets.jar
) - If not, repeat from step 5, but replace the text with
xmx=5g
, thenxmx=6g
etc. until you do not run out of memory.
Note: you need to restart jEveAssets (withjmemory.jar
) for the changes injmemory.properties
to take effect
